Station Cottage is a peaceful place where you can really tune into nature. The cottage is situated on the Derwent Walk and is part of the red kite trail, as well as this the famous coast to coast route comes through this area.
Built in 1860 it is the only original cottage situated in Lintz Green with the original railway platform situated at the bottom of the garden.
The extremely popular Gibside National Trust park is just a 5 minute drive with the option of walking or cycling (taking a little longer) from the cottage. The park hosts a variety of different events including buskers evenings. Friday and Saturday evenings the park is open for delicious food and a nice relaxing drink to end your evening, other events available to view through its independent website.
There are a number of walks around this area if you visit the Woodland Trust website and put in the cottages postcode this will show you walks alternatively if you prefer to explore freely by yourself this is the place to do it.
Beamish open air museum is just a 20 minute drive away when you join you will receive a pass which gives you unlimited visits for 1 year.
